International PhD Candidates

 
The doctoral studies at FAPS enable dedicated PhD candidates to work on exciting topics in the newest areas of research and technology. The research topics include the entire process chain for mechatronics products that begins with the packaging of electronic components, with the main focus on the assembly of electronic components, the production process of electrical drives, biomechatronics and efficient systems. Expectations toward the PhD candidates

  • Fulfilling the research tasks according to the proposed research schedule
  • Preparing teaching tasks (e.g. supervising of practical trainings, organizing and preparation of lecture units)
  • Supervision of master and bachelor students work
  • Implementation of organizational projects
  • Applying for and working on research and industry projects
  • Writing publications and creating presentations

Financials

The applicant is ought to prove that he/she will secure his/her financing during his/her stay at FAPS through any of the following financial means:

Type of Doctoral Program

Working Language

The working languages at FAPS are English and German. However, you are highly recommended to prove basic German language skills in order to increase the chance of getting accepted, and further on, to be able to accomplish the organizational tasks at the institute.
Your English language proficiency will be evaluated during the call interview, as part of your application process evaluation.

Language of the Doctoral Thesis

The doctoral thesis could be written either in English or German language.

Requirements for Applicant

The degree of the applicant should be equivalent to Diplomingenieur or the German university Master degree. The administration staff at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) will help you to process your degree equivalency.
